Simple Homeopathy for Simple Viruses
One thing I have really seen increase alongside coughs and colds this winter is our spotty childhood viruses like measles, chicken pox and hand foot mouth virus. I call them simple viruses as they are nothing to worry too much about, they come in cause some fevers and upset then break out in rashes, ulcers, blisters and then they go.
Now I know they are not always fun to treat especially in little babies but of course there are great homeopathic remedies to manage your kiddies through them and if you have one of our Everyday Emergency Kits then you will already have most of the remedies you need!!
For the first onset of the viruses you will normally see (but not always) fevers or cold like symptoms, some of our best remedies for this are;
ACONITE 200c – the classic sudden onset fever, stress and anxiety, thirst and restlessness, cold and heat alternate they can even have icy hands and feet with heat in the body.
BELLADONNA 200c – red, hot and delirious is this fever type! It is more intense and more wild than the Aconite fever, also great is there is ear aches or any kind of throbbing pains.
FERR PHOS TISSUE SALT SPRAY – this is my favourite tissue salt to have on hand as it helps for so many kiddies problems. But with fevers I use is alongside the homeopathic remedies – so 2 pills of your remedy then 10 minutes later 3 sprays of ferr phos straight into the mouth. Continue the alternating until bub is calm or fever has broken with a sweat. Once the fever has broken you will normally see the skin eruptions come out as the body clears out the pathogen, depending on how your child experiences the virus these s=are some of the most helpful;
PULSATILLA 200C – more of a widespread non-raised rash seen in measles and classic viral rashes – it can be itchy but may not and is not blistered or weeping – try 3 times daily and see how it goes.
RHUS TOX 200c – this is more for the blistered eruptions see in Chicken Pox and HFM virus – it is one to start as soon as a spot come out 3-4 times daily until they calm – also great for cold sore eruptions.
MERCURY 30c – you may need this for the mouth ulcers you see in HFM virus.
WHMR HFM Blend – this is a liquid blend from our homeopathic support blend range – it is a combo of all of the remedies needed for HFM, but you can always try the single remedies you have in your kit first and if they don’t help call us for the blend or purchase from our online shop.
NOTAKHL PENICILLIN 6X – now I know we think of antibiotics for bacteria only and that is true in the pharmaceutical drug form of it BUT in homeopathic for these drops can really target viruses that are getting out of hand (meaning not being stopped but simple prescribing) – add 10 drops twice daily to your chosen remedy.
